Be a Buddy!

Today is Pink Day.  There was a boy that wore pink and other kids laughed at him. His friends said that was not nice and they wore pink to support him. Be a Buddy not a Bully! We are trying to be proactive and be responsible and kind.

We are learning about the food groups. We made a shopping cart filled with all 5 food groups! We did some writing about our week off. 
We learned more about 10s and 1s. We were making numbers like 28 and 97 using pretzel sticks as 10 sticks and marshmallows as ones. And then we ATE them!
Today we had a guest teacher in gym and played soccer.  This afternoon, we were very distracted as the workers were breaking down the snow hill.  It was getting pretty icy. 

Doubles, doubles

Doubles, doubles! I can add doubles!

We had gym and played dodgeball!  We are learning about doubles and played a math game about making doubles. The most rolled double was the winner.  A double is when you add the SAME number to make a bigger number. We brought the math game home so we can play it together. We made winter pictures using the ipads. We had two indoor recesses again! 

I Have, Who Has

We played a game of I Have, Who Has.  We had to read big and small numbers and listen for our number to be said.

We are finishing up our penguin masterpieces.  We wrote juicy questions for Mrs.Pennycook and our Skype field trip to the South Pole.  Tomorrow is our Skype!

Guess My Number!

Today we Skyped with Mme. Polege's class in our school.  Her class is at the other end of the school. We had to guess the number that they picked and they guessed our number.  Our number was 15!  They had some good questions.  We all have a 100s chart and then we cross out numbers after someone asks a juicy question.  It was fun!

We did a penguin picture today.  We painted the water and sponged the ice and snow.  We then used a print of a penguin.  It is called printmaking.

Today we had indoor recess all day.  It was too cold to go outside.  At lunch, some of us went to the gym for building things, some went to Ms. Mahan's room for GoNoodle and some went to our room for drawing.  Our room was full!

Dot Day

Today we painted dots. We coloured dots on the iPad.   We played on the iPads for dot day.  We stacked chairs. We painted dots.  We had some rocket candies as dots.  We had to count them.  We had 15 rockets in each package.  Then we ate them.  We played on the Apollo and we played on the playground.
